St Tudno’s Church is a stunning heritage site and the perfect subject for a detailed 3D digital twin. Using the DJI Matrice 4E with D-RTK 2, I carried out an RTK-grade photogrammetry survey powered by DJI’s 3D Smart Capture. After a short pre-flight to generate a rough model, the drone auto-planned its final path even before landing. In just 9 minutes, it captured 805 crisp, high-res images. Fast, accurate, and seriously capable tech.
The finished model is now live part of a growing gallery showing what’s possible with modern drone surveying.
Imagine spotting cracks or weathering early without scaffolding, just a digital twin instead that tracks seasonal change or storm damage. Architects and engineers designing from CAD-ready models. Grant applications strengthened by vivid visual proof. Accurate data that simplifies insurance claims, supports maintenance plans, and even fuels immersive AR and VR experiences for global audiences.
This is the future of heritage surveying. And it’s happening now.
