Drone and camera equipment

At the heart of operations is the DJI Matrice 4E drone, enhanced with RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) GPS technology. This allows for exceptional precision in tasks such as site surveys, infrastructure inspections, and mapping, as well as the capture of cinematic-grade visuals for promotional purposes.

Complementing this, we also deploy the agile sub-250g DJI Mini Pro 4, which enables us to operate in the A1 category while still delivering high-resolution imagery - even in environments with tighter regulatory constraints. For ground-based work, we use the renowned Nikon D850 DSLR camera paired with a range of lenses from 12mm to 600mm, ensuring outstanding quality and versatility for every shot.

By investing in top-tier drone and camera technology and refining our core service offering, Cr8ive Media UK has positioned itself in high-value sectors where accuracy and impact are key.

Drone Equipment
  • What drone services do you offer?
Cr8ive Media UK provides a wide range of professional drone services including aerial photography, videography, roof and façade inspections, photogrammetry, 3D modelling, land surveys, and construction progress tracking. Every project is customised to suit the client's sector and needs, whether that’s heritage documentation, estate management, or site planning.
  • What types of inspections can you carry out?
We carry out detailed visual inspections of roofs, façades, towers, chimneys, gutters, and inaccessible elevations. Using high-resolution imagery and stable camera platforms, we reveal issues like missing tiles, moss, cracking, corrosion, or vegetation growth, safely and without the need for scaffolding.
  • Do you offer drone services to private homeowners?
Yes. Homeowners use our drone services for roof inspections, planning support, architectural design, and aerial marketing photos. We help identify problems early or capture your property from a unique and compelling perspective.
  • What equipment do you use?
We fly a DJI Matrice 4E with RTK for precise survey work, and a DJI Mini 4 Pro for agile flights in residential or confined areas. Both drones use high-resolution cameras and are supported by advanced software such as DJI Terra, Pix4D, and RealityCapture.
  • How often should I update a digital twin?
It depends on your objective. Heritage structures might need annual updates, construction sites could benefit from monthly flyovers, and large portfolios might require updates after adverse weather or structural change. We work with you to set a sensible schedule.
  • Are your drone operations legal and insured?
Yes. We are fully insured and operate under a valid PDRA-01 operational authorisation from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. We’re also preparing for the upcoming 2026 UK drone law changes related to C2-class operations and the Open Category.
  • How are deliverables shared with clients?
We use secure cloud platforms like Nira.app to share interactive 3D models and orthomosaics. You’ll receive access to view, inspect, and measure directly in your browser along with download options for files like JPEG, PDF, DXF, OBJ, or LAS depending on your needs.
  • Do you help interpret the data?
Absolutely. We don't just hand over data — we work with you to explain the results, highlight key findings, and recommend next steps. Whether it’s for repairs, planning, or analysis, we ensure you get practical, usable insights.
  • How can heritage organisations benefit from drones?
Heritage bodies use our services to safely document complex, aging structures from chimneys to spires without invasive equipment. Our models support grant applications, conservation planning, 3D visualisation, and even virtual public access. They preserve vital records of assets that may be at risk.
  • How can NHS estate teams benefit from drones and digital twins?
NHS facilities managers use drone inspections to assess roofs, façades, and service infrastructure quickly, safely, and without disrupting clinical operations. Digital twins support planning, maintenance tracking, and compliance with minimal site presence.
  • Why are drones useful for housing associations?
Housing associations benefit from faster inspections, visual repair records, and portfolio-wide monitoring. Drones reduce the cost of scaffolding and allow maintenance teams to identify issues earlier and respond faster, improving service delivery and reducing long-term costs.
  • Can drone models help in construction projects?
Yes, we can track construction progress, verify contractor work, and capture accurate as-built models throughout the project. Our repeat surveys help stakeholders monitor change, prevent errors, and produce impressive project documentation.
  • Can you support environmental or landscape monitoring?
Yes. We capture data on tree cover, erosion, flood zones, and land contours. Our outputs help landscape architects, councils, and environmental bodies plan interventions, visualise terrain, and monitor change over time.
  • What is photogrammetry?
Photogrammetry is a process that uses overlapping photographs to reconstruct 3D models or 2D maps. Using drone imagery, we create incredibly detailed and measurable representations of real-world environments from individual houses to entire landscapes.
  • What is a digital twin?
A digital twin is a precise 3D virtual model of a real-world building, site, or facility. It allows remote inspection, accurate measurement, and easy sharing with stakeholders reducing the need for site visits and improving decision-making across teams.
  • Do you create 3D models from drone photos?
Yes. We generate high-quality, textured 3D models suitable for visualisation, inspection, and integration into BIM or CAD workflows. These models are viewable online or downloadable for deeper analysis and planning.
  • Can you provide maps or elevation data?
Absolutely. We produce orthomosaics (high-res stitched maps), digital elevation models, terrain contours, and other GIS-friendly deliverables. These outputs support applications in planning, drainage, archaeology, landscaping, and more.
  • Can you calculate measurements or volumes?
Yes. Our data enables precise measurement of areas, lengths, heights, angles, slopes, and even volumes of stockpiles or voids. You can use our models to measure remotely, without stepping on site.
  • Can your 3D models be used in architectural or engineering workflows?
We export data in formats compatible with AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, QGIS, and similar software. Architects and engineers use our models for planning, design, and asset integration with traditional CAD and BIM systems.
  • How accurate are your surveys and models?
We typically achieve Ground Sampling Distances (GSDs) between 0.7 and 2.5 cm per pixel. Our Matrice drone uses RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning for centimetre-level spatial accuracy, enabling professional-grade measurement and alignment.
