Remote Building & Infrastructure Surveys for Rural and Heritage Sites

Navigating Cumbria’s Remote and Protected Environments

Cumbria is home to some of the UK’s most remote, scenic and structurally complex landscapes. From old stone farmhouses in the Eden Valley to churches and guesthouses along Lake Windermere and the infrastructure that supports them. Inspecting and maintaining these properties is often challenging due to terrain, access, and conservation rules.

At Cr8ive Media UK, we specialise in drone inspections that simplify these challenges. Our surveys offer a safe and scalable solution for rural, heritage and scattered sites across Cumbria. Whether you’re in Keswick, Penrith, Ambleside or deep into the fells, we bring advanced aerial surveying tools to you with no scaffolding, access towers or risk to your team.

Clarity From the Sky

We use high-resolution drones and advanced photogrammetry to create 3D models, digital twins, and orthomosaics that are accurate, measurable and easy to share. This is ideal for maintaining Cumbrian farm buildings, inspecting chapel roofs, checking towers, and reviewing the condition of hard-to-reach assets.

Our clients use these surveys to document storm damage, plan essential maintenance, and prepare grant applications especially for buildings in conservation zones or national parks. With one visit, we deliver detailed visual data that saves time, reduces travel, and improves decision-making.

Case Study: Hilltop Guesthouse Survey

We recently completed a drone survey for a guesthouse where the owner needed to assess roof damage after high winds, but the steep terrain made ladders and cherry pickers unsafe. Our drone team captured the full roofline, chimney stack and nearby outhouse in under an hour.

The data revealed loose tiles, displaced flashing and water ingress points. The owner used the visuals to coordinate local repairs, avoid downtime, and satisfy insurers all without closing the business or applying for special permissions due to the protected area status.
