Supporting Conservation Across Market Towns and Country Estates
A Modern Tool for Historic Cheshire
Cheshire is home to a diverse and historically rich landscape, from black-and-white timber-framed houses and medieval market town centres to Roman-era walls and grand country estates. Preserving these assets requires care, accuracy, and modern tools that can uncover detail without causing disruption. At Cr8ive Media UK, we offer drone-led photogrammetry surveys that reveal every angle of a structure, helping conservation professionals see the full picture.
Our 3D models capture hard-to-access areas such as roof valleys, parapets, and upper stonework, providing the insight needed for accurate repair planning and funding applications. These digital twins are already being used across Cheshire in stately homes, village churches, and historic spaces to reduce survey costs, minimise invasive inspection methods, and improve long-term conservation outcomes.

What Our Drone Surveys Offer
Our drone surveys are designed with heritage professionals in mind. We use high-resolution photogrammetry with sub-centimetre accuracy to ensure every scan is suitable for conservation and architectural planning. All processing is handled by experienced technicians, with a strong focus on quality assurance and attention to historical detail.
Once completed, the outputs are delivered via a secure, browser-based platform. This allows clients, funders, and stakeholders to view and interact with the models on any device. No specialist software is needed. For teams working in CAD or BIM environments, our outputs can also be exported in compatible formats, making it easy to integrate the survey data into wider planning and design workflows.

Norton Priory - Visualising Potential at "The Yard"
A recent project took us to Norton Priory in Cheshire, where we were commissioned to survey a 2.2-acre area known as The Yard — a large, underused space adjacent to this nationally significant heritage site. The aim was to support a major funding bid to transform the site into a commercial hub that would not only aid the long-term sustainability of Norton Priory but also expand its educational offering for schools and community groups.
Using drone photogrammetry, we created a detailed, high-resolution 3D model of the entire yard, capturing the current condition of buildings, hardstanding areas, vegetation, and boundary features. The digital twin offered a complete and accurate visualisation of the site, not only as a condition record but also as a powerful communication tool for stakeholders. The model allowed local authorities, funders, and planning consultants to explore the site remotely in full 3D, removing the need for repeated site visits.
This visual clarity proved especially valuable during early-stage discussions, helping the project team convey both the potential and practical challenges of the site with confidence. It also supported a wider narrative around regeneration, educational access, and community engagement, key themes in the funding application.
The survey was delivered quickly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the surrounding grounds, and the outputs are now embedded into the ongoing development process. This project highlights how drone-based 3D modelling can go beyond simple documentation to become a strategic tool, enabling site teams to present compelling, data-rich evidence to decision-makers and funding bodies alike.
